Demand that Hartree pulls out of Repparfjord

Rasmus BergHartree Partners, a U.S. investment firm, has just fully financed the start-up of the Nussir Mine—a copper mine in Repparfjord, Sápmi (Northern Norway) that threatens a nationally protected wild salmon fjord and violates Indigenous Sámi rights.
🛑 30 million tons of toxic mining waste will be dumped into the fjord, devastating marine life and local fisheries. Norway is one of the only countries in the world still approving this harmful practice.
🛑 The mine is on traditional Sámi reindeer herding land. The Sámi Parliament and local herders have not given consent—violating United Nation Declaration of Indigenous Peoples’, ILO Convention No. 169 and the principle of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent.
🛑 Using the green transition as a justification for destroying ecosystems and violating indigenous peoples’ rights is unacceptable. Copper must be sourced in ways that respect both people and the planet. We call on Hartree Partners to:
– Immediately divest from the Nussir mining project.
– Publicly state that they don’t support environmental destruction or the marginalization of indigenous communities in the name of sustainability.
– Prioritize investments that truly support a just and equitable green transition.
Sign the petition now to stand up against environmental destruction and Indigenous rights violations in Repparfjord.
